All new roofs are firstly completely covered in a breathable felt which allows the roofs internal wooden substructure to breathe after completion. The new roof is then lathed and tiled with the gaps between the lathes being governed by the size and shape of specific tiles being used. The pictures shown are of a new roof meeting an existing and so reclaimed ‘Rosemary’ tiles were used to gain the aesthetics required.
Most new single-storey extensions tend to use concrete tiles and incorporate Velux, Fakro windows or if it’s a flat roof sometimes a Lantern can be installed.
